About Us

The Society of Chartered Accountants of Mauritius regroups qualified Chartered Accountants in Mauritius. We count about 200 members in Mauritius, who work in high level positions across all sectors of the economy. Our members are qualified accountants from The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland or from The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

The objectives of the Society

(a) to promote the interests and professional needs of members and to provide a forum for members working in Mauritius

(b) to advance the theory and practice of accountancy in all its aspects, including in particular auditing, financial management, financial reporting, consultancy and taxation;

(c) to promote at all times, the professional independence of members in whatever capacities they may be serving;

(d) to promote high standards of practice and professional conduct by all its members.

(e) to do all such things as may advance the profession of accountancy in relation to public practice industry, commerce and the public service.

Dalini is a Senior Accountant at Lavastone, based in Mauritius.

Steve is an Audit Assistant Manager at KPMG.

Council member

Kamesh is a Senior Manager in PwC’s advisory deals services.

Council member

Panna is a Senior Partner of Lancasters Chartered Accountants.

HOW TO JOIN US

Eligibility

Members of one of the following bodies and are ordinarily
residents of Mauritius are eligible to become members of the Society:

  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland
  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland

Application Form

Eligible members are required to fill in an application form.

Duly completed application form should be accompanied by copy of membership of the relevant body and a cheque of Rs3,000 representing entrance fee of Rs2,000 and an annual fee of Rs1,000

Application form and accompanying documents should be submitted to the Secretariat as per address on the application form.

New members will be admitted at the next meeting of the council in the following month.
